A joint team of the Manipur Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has arrested two persons allegedly involved in the killing of six Naga individuals at Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13, 2026.

According to a statement issued by Manipur Police on Friday, the operation was launched in the early hours at Leilon Vaiphei village based on credible inputs from security sources. The targeted operation resulted in the apprehension of two accused identified as Pradip, son of Tomba, and Ayingbi, wife of Pradip, both residents of Leilon Vaiphei village.

Police stated that necessary search and seizure procedures were carried out during the operation and legal formalities are underway.

The two arrested persons, identified by witnesses, were allegedly involved in the abduction of the victims, police said.

The case relates to the killing of six Naga individuals at Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13. Manipur Police said efforts are continuing to apprehend other accomplices allegedly involved in the crime.
