The first edition of the Kezoma Village Millet Festival, organized by the Kezoma Village Council in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and supported by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, was held on 30th August 2025 at Zakie Ground, Kezoma, Kohima District.
Y Vikheho Swu, President of the NDPP Agri & Allied Organisation and Managing Director of Okusa Toyota, graced the occasion as the special guest. Speaking at the event, he emphasized the importance of millet as a climate-resilient crop, highlighting its health benefits such as being rich in fibre and minerals, gluten-free, and its role in boosting farmers’ income while ensuring food security.
Highlights of the program included folk tunes, speeches from village leaders, and glimpses of the rich agricultural traditions of Kezoma.
The festival aimed to promote millet cultivation, raise awareness of its nutritional value, and encourage younger generations to continue traditional farming practices.
