The first edition of the Peren District Football Association (PDFA) Women’s Cup 2025 witnessed emphatic victories on Friday as Jalukie Town Gunners FC, Heningkunglwa Youth Organisation, Broiler FC Mhainamtsi, and Jalukie Town Galacticos FC registered wins in their respective fixtures and progressed to the semifinals at the astro turf ground in Jalukie Town.
In the opening match of the day, Jalukie Town Gunners FC delivered a commanding performance, defeating Hingho FC 12–0. Thujovetsolu Vese led the scoring with five goals (7’, 9’, 14’, 21’, 27’), followed by Charakungliu with four goals (6’, 10’, 17’, 19’). Heidangbuile added two goals (22’, 32’) and Nciepzeule netted one in the 30th minute.
The second match saw Heningkunglwa Youth Organisation edge past Mpai FC with a narrow 1–0 win. Isidaule scored the decisive goal in the 13th minute, securing full points for her side.
In the third fixture, Broiler FC Mhainamtsi overcame Tening Sub-Division 1–0. Kimbun’s strike in the 18th minute proved to be the match-winner.
The final match of the day featured an all-Jalukie clash, where Jalukie Town Galacticos FC outclassed Jalukie Town Liangmai FC 5–0. Lunglung opened the scoring in the first minute, while Kungni netted a hat-trick (3’, 45’, 46’) and Samlam added another in the 21st minute to seal the win.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday, followed by the final match and closing ceremony in the evening.
The tournament continues to showcase promising talent and growing enthusiasm for women’s football in the district.
