The District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Tuensang, observed World Mental Health Day on October 10 at the DIET Hall.

DIET Tuensang marks World Mental Health Day
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Renemlila, Lecturer, spoke on the theme, “Access to Mental Health Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.” She highlighted the meaning of mental health through the three C’s: Causes, Consequences, and Control. She also reminded attendees that educators play a key role in fostering emotional support and resilience.

Peter Libenthung, Principal of DIET Tuensang, shared an inspiring story of Adolf Hitler and emphasized the need for empathy and mental well-being.

The programme was chaired by Yangthrilila, Lecturer, and began with a prayer by Thüpuveyo, Lecturer. Second-year student-teachers of D.El.Ed presented a special number during the event.

The programme concluded with a Mindful Breathing Exercise and the slogan, “Mental Health matters even in the midst of chaos.” A final prayer was offered by Keneisedenuo, Lecturer.
