Senior Nagaland legislator and MLA from the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency in Mokokchung passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 11, at a private hospital in Guwahati after a brief illness. He was serving as the Advisor for Information and Public Relations, and Soil and Water Conservation, Nagaland.
He was initially hospitalized in Kohima on Saturday evening due to health complications. He reportedly suffered a heart attack and was airlifted to Guwahati for further medical treatment on Monday.
Imchen, aged 75, had been a member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly since 2003. He was elected five times, including in the 2023 general election when he contested on a BJP ticket.
Earlier, on November 7, Imchen attended the closing ceremony of a volleyball tournament in Aliba village, Mokokchung. During the event, he publicly mentioned feeling unwell and left the venue early.

He had also visited Chungtia village the previous day, one of the major villages under the Koridang Assembly Constituency, in what could be described as his last official tour.
