A district-level Second Unity March (Pad Yatra) was organized by MY Bharat Kiphire in coordination with the 14th NAP Battalion (IR) on December 9 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The “Unity Walk” began at the 14th NAP Battalion IR Ground and proceeded to Okhezung Village. The march aimed to spread the message of Ek Bharat – Aatmanirbhar Bharat and honour Sardar Patel, the Iron Man of India, for his remarkable contribution to national integration.

The Pad Yatra was flagged off by Er. Rukuta Vero, MTI of the 14th NAP Battalion IR, who delivered an inspiring message during the programme. He highlighted Sardar Patel’s childhood and his extraordinary role in uniting the princely states to build a strong and united India. He encouraged the youth to draw inspiration from great leaders like Patel and to uphold values that contribute to nation-building. Concluding his speech, he emphasised the “Iron Will of Sardar Patel” and urged participants to remain determined, work hard, and build a brighter future.
The event also featured a cultural performance by the Women Folk of Longthonger Village. Certificates and acknowledgements were presented by Er. Rukuta Vero and other invited guests. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Lumtsala Y. Sangtam, who expressed gratitude to all participants, the Chief Guest, Commandant Khruosutho (NPS), and PHM Venlong Phom for their support, and thanked volunteers for their dedication.
