The Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, conducted a one-day tourism awareness training-cum-sensitisation programme at Lephori Village on 2 October to promote responsible tourism and strengthen local capacity in tour operation and guiding.

The programme was chaired by Lozhisie and began with an invocation by Rev. Disie Katiry, Pastor of Lephori Baptist Church. Lephori Village Council Chairman Nyojitho Pojar delivered the welcome note, while Senior Tourist Officer, Meluri, S. Peter Trakha delivered the keynote address.
Technical sessions were conducted by Veshehü Kezo, proprietor of Tribal Odyssey and General Secretary of the Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), on “Introduction to Tourism and Tour Guiding”, and Vimeto Vakha, NTA president and proprietor of Abode Venture, on “Community-Based Tourism”.
The programme saw participation from youth of Lephori and Reguri villages and other local stakeholders, with discussions focusing on the potential for homestays and community-based tourism in the region.
Following the sessions, the participants visited the recently inaugurated viewpoint inside the Khrokhropfü Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Department of Tourism stated that the programme was part of its efforts to promote sustainable and community-driven tourism in the state.
