‘Mokokchung Centric – A People’s Group’ will organize the 53rd edition of the New Year’s Eve celebration at the Mokokchung Town Square (Police Point) on December 31, starting at 6:00 PM and continuing into the midnight countdown to welcome 2026.
The event was first initiated in 1972 by the Seasonal Club and has since evolved into a major community event, drawing residents from across Mokokchung and beyond. Over the past five decades, the event has come to symbolize the town’s unity and collective spirit.
“The 2025 edition will feature a mix of upcoming and seasoned local artists, dance performances, DJ sets, and other presentations, aimed at creating an inclusive atmosphere as the town counts down to the New Year,” the organizers informed.
‘Mokokchung Centric’ has invited all residents of Mokokchung and neighboring areas to come together at the Town Square and be part of the celebration, as the community ushers in 2026 together in a spirit of togetherness and shared hope.
