The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, has issued a public notification regarding a proposal to rename Ao-Settsü Village to Settsü Village.
The initiative, put forward by the Village Council, concerns the village under the administrative jurisdiction of the Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Ongpangkong Circle in Mokokchung District.
According to the official notification dated 26 February 2026, any individual or group with objections to the proposed name change is required to submit them in writing to the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mokokchung within 30 days of the notification.
The DC clarified that if no objections are received within the stipulated period, the proposal will be considered as having “No Objection” and will be forwarded to the Government for final approval and necessary action.
