The Marepkong Youth Association (MYA) has announced a change in venue for the 7th Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament (MIWFT) 2026, which it is organizing under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA).
According to a press release issued by MYA, the tournament was initially scheduled to be held at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung from March 24 to April 4. However, the venue has been shifted following the announcement of the by-election under the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency.
The tournament will now be held at the football ground of Senayangba Government Higher Secondary School, Ungma. The association expressed appreciation to the school authorities for their support and cooperation in facilitating the event at short notice.
A total of 14 teams representing various wards will participate in the tournament. The inaugural program will be held on March 24 at 11:00 AM at the new venue, with Lanuakum, Deputy Chairperson of Mokokchung Municipal Council, attending as the Guest of Honour.
The tournament will be held under the theme “Rise As One.” MYA has requested all participating teams, officials, and well-wishers to take note of the venue change and extend their cooperation for the successful conduct of the tournament.
