On the 46th Republic Day of the Naga National Republic, NSCN/GPRN President Yung Aung reiterated that full sovereignty remains the only acceptable solution to the Naga political issue, rejecting any partial or piecemeal settlements proposed by India or Naga political groups.

In his Republic Day message, Yung Aung paid tribute to Naga martyrs and the Naga Army, calling their courage and dedication a “torch of resistance” that continues to guide the national struggle. He emphasised that the Naga Army remains ready to defend “every inch of Naga territory and safeguard our sovereignty at all cost,” remembering those who have “paid the ultimate sacrifice in the recent past.”

The statement also issued a sharp warning to internal critics. “The enemies of the Nagas are no longer at the gates, they are within,” Yung Aung said, accusing some Naga political groups of pursuing personal gains at the expense of the national cause.

He described them as “roadblocks on the path towards our awaited goal” and warned that any political solution short of full independence would be “a clear betrayal of the supreme sacrifices made by thousands of Nagas.”

Addressing the younger generation, Yung Aung urged continued commitment to the national struggle. “If we stop midway, all the eight decades of sacrifices will be in vain,” he said, calling the current moment “the test of all time” for the Naga people. He stressed that unity, discipline, and clarity of purpose are essential, and cautioned that doubts about sovereignty “undermine the sacrifices of past generations.”

The NSCN/GPRN message left no ambiguity: it rejects compromise, denounces “false solutions proposed by the Government of India in connivance with Naga political groups,” and insists that the path forward lies solely in the pursuit of full sovereignty.
