Scrutiny of nomination papers for the Koridang Assembly Constituency by-election in Mokokchung was conducted on March 24. Seven candidates have cleared the scrutiny for the 28-Koridang Assembly constituency by-election, scheduled for April 9.
Following the last date for filing nominations on Monday, March 23, the nominations of BJP’s Daochier I Imchen, Congress candidate T Chalokumba Ao, NPP’s I Abenjang, and Independent candidates Imtiwapang Kichu, Major Toshikaba (Retd.), and Imchatoba Imchen were accepted. The nomination of Wapangmeren, an Independent confirmed as the standby for Major Toshikaba (Retd.), also cleared the scrutiny.
According to the by-election schedule, the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is Thursday, March 26.
