The event highlighted the longstanding relationship between the Ahoms and the Konyak Nagas, marked by peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. Historical accounts and oral traditions point to alliances, cultural exchanges, and matrimonial ties, including the marriage of an Ahom king to Watlong Anghya of the Konyak tribe.

The occasion served as a tribute to Joymoti’s legacy while reaffirming unity among communities. Addressing the gathering, the KU president urged the younger generation to preserve this shared heritage and carry forward the legacy of friendship and harmony.

The Union also called for strengthening unity in social, political, and economic spheres, emphasising dialogue, cooperation, and peace as essential to building a harmonious and progressive future.
