Meghalaya registered a narrow three-wicket win over Nagaland, while Sikkim secured a comfortable eight-wicket victory against Arunachal Pradesh in the 4th NECDC U19 Inter State Friendship Cup 2026 on April 8. The matches were played at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium and the Sovima Cricket Ground in Chumoukedima.

In the first match, Meghalaya chased down a target of 168 to defeat Nagaland in a closely contested encounter. Batting first, Nagaland were bowled out for 167 in 39.5 overs. Amongti Longkumer scored 36 off 45 balls, while Shyerinlo added 36 off 49 to provide stability to the innings. Meghalaya’s bowling was led by Mewankitbok Kharpuri, who returned figures of 5 for 33 in 10 overs. Benedict J Makdoh supported well with 2 for 31.
In reply, Meghalaya reached 170 for 7 in 29.4 overs. Angkit Tamang anchored the chase with 42 off 67 balls as wickets fell at regular intervals. Nagaland bowlers kept the contest tight, with Yashimeren Jamir picking up 2 for 40 and Amongti Longkumer taking 2 for 29, but Meghalaya crossed the target in the closing stages. Kharpuri was named Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul.
In the second match, Sikkim produced an all-round performance to defeat Arunachal Pradesh by eight wickets. Arunachal Pradesh, after electing to bat, were bowled out for 118 in 26.3 overs. Nabam Nathan top scored with 31 off 23 balls. Parvin Kuikel led the Sikkim bowling attack with figures of 4 for 26 in 6.3 overs.
Chasing 119, Sikkim completed the task in 17.1 overs, finishing at 124 for 2. Andan Alam remained unbeaten on 51 off 41 balls to guide his side to victory. Ngurang Lana and Nabam Gania picked up a wicket each for Arunachal Pradesh, but were unable to restrict the scoring. Alam was named Player of the Match for his half century.
