Former National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Veprasa Nyekha has resigned from the party and formally joined the Naga People’s Front (NPF).

According to an update from the NPF unit of the 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency, Nyekha, along with his supporters, joined the party in Kohima in the presence of MLA of 18th Chozuba AC and Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, along with party rank and file from the central office bearers, division, and constituency levels.
A programme in this regard was held on April 13, formally welcoming him into the party fold.
Welcoming the move, Khamo appreciated the decision of NPP members from 18th Chozuba AC, led by Nyekha, a retired District and Sessions Judge, along with GBs and village council members, to extend their support to his leadership and that of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, president of the NPF, in the interest of the constituency and the state.
“I, along with the entire party rank and file, heartily welcome each and everyone into the Naga People’s Front family,” Khamo said.
He stated that the move reflects a coming together to strengthen the regional party and uphold shared aspirations for peace, unity, and progress.
NPF 18th Chozuba AC president Vevohu Epao also welcomed Nyekha and his supporters, expressing confidence that they would work collectively for grassroots development and the welfare of the Naga people.
