The fifth edition of the Cucumber Festival will be held on May 7 at Aliba village, Mokokchung, with a focus on promoting off-season cucumber cultivation and sustainable farming practices.

Organised with the aim of encouraging agricultural innovation, the festival will bring together progressive farmers, agricultural officials, and stakeholders from across the district. The event will feature exhibitions showcasing farming techniques, local produce, and innovations adopted by cultivators.

The programme will begin at 10:30 am, with Rongsennungla Imchen as chairperson. The invocation will be delivered by Jangtsülong Pongener, Youth Pastor of ABA, followed by a welcome address from the Aliba Village Council.

Short speeches will be delivered by Limanenla, NCS, Joint Secretary, Agriculture, Government of Nagaland; Dr Lanunochetla, District Agriculture Officer, Mokokchung; and a representative from the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland.

The special address will be given by Sanuzo Nienu, Director of Agriculture and State Nodal Officer, ATMA.

The programme will conclude with a vote of thanks by Alemtoshi, followed by the formal declaration of the Cucumber Festival 2026 open.
