Shiyong Dam at Satier Sector, Aliba Village is set to host its first-ever Open Pole Angling Competition on May 9, marking what organizers hope will become a new tradition for anglers in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the organizing committee, secretary Meyanichet and member Imtikum said the competition is open to both amateur and professional anglers as part of its inaugural edition.
They said while the exact format of future editions remains uncertain, the initiative is intended to promote angling, recreation, and community participation at Shiyong Dam.
According to the organizers, tickets are priced at Rs 1,500 and are available at Lim Counter, with limited slots for participants.
The competition will offer cash prizes of Rs 50,000 for first place, Rs 25,000 for second place, and Rs 15,000 for third place. Additionally, 15 participants will receive consolation prizes of Rs 3,000 each.
