World No Tobacco Day 2022 will be observed across the State on 31st May 2022 under the theme, “Tobacco- A threat to Environment.” According to Dr. C Tetseo, Additional Director and State Nodal Officer, the District Tobacco Control Cell in all districts will be organizing different activities including competition and awareness programs in district and block headquarters during the week that will culminate on 31st May 2022.

 

The State Tobacco Control Cell will also be organizing a state-level Picture and Caption Competition on the theme which is open to all school and college students. The best three shall be awarded with cash prizes and certificates. The picture and caption can be submitted online to stccnagaland@gmail.com by 31st May 2022.

 

Dr. Tetseo also stated that Tobacco use among school students is on the rise and appealed to all schools and colleges in the state to organize some activities to create awareness and also to mark the day and give good publicity on their own.
