Nagabazar Sub-Centre inaugurated

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Leamnyei described the upgraded Sub-Centre as a step towards accessible and affordable healthcare and expressed hope that it would contribute to universal health coverage. Established in 1987, the centre is staffed by eight personnel, including two ANMs, a dresser, a vaccinator, and four medical attendants.

He said the centre would provide preventive and promotive healthcare through 12 essential service packages, including maternal and child healthcare, adolescent health, family planning, communicable and non-communicable disease management, elderly and mental healthcare, and emergency services.

The facility is equipped with 12 essential equipment items, offers 14 diagnostic services, and will provide 106 essential medicines free of cost under the Government of India’s Free Drug Service initiative.

Delivering the keynote address, Zeneivonuo Nakhro, councillor of Ward-4 Nagabazar under Kohima Municipal Council, expressed happiness that the sub-centre would bring essential healthcare services closer to the community. She urged the public to protect, utilise, and support the centre.
