Dimapur Government College (DGC) on Monday bid farewell to its Vice Principal, Dr. Meripeni Ngully of the Department of History, who retired after 32 years of service in teaching and administration.

The college community paid tribute to Dr. Ngully’s dedication, professionalism and contributions as an educator and administrator. Speakers recalled her commitment to academic excellence, meticulous work ethic and the positive impact she had on colleagues and students throughout her career.

Having begun her teaching career in the era of blackboards and chalk, Dr. Ngully retires at a time when classrooms are increasingly shaped by ICT-enabled teaching and digital learning.

Members of the DGC community reflected on her intelligence, sincerity and leadership, noting that her legacy as an educator and mentor would continue to inspire future generations. They also described retirement as the beginning of a new and enriching phase of life.

The farewell programme was chaired by Dr. Ngutoli Swu of the Department of History. The Principal, faculty members, colleagues, friends and students shared their experiences and conveyed their best wishes to the retiring Vice Principal.

The programme concluded with a prayer of blessing offered by Dr. A. Sentiyula of the Department of English.
