The National Statistics Office (NSO), Field Operations Division (FOD), Kohima Regional Office, under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, has commenced fieldwork for the All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS), Migration Survey, and Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) of Agricultural Households in Nagaland.

The surveys will be conducted from July 2026 to June 2027 and are aimed at collecting comprehensive data to support evidence-based policymaking and development planning.

According to the NSO, the All India Debt and Investment Survey will assess the financial health of households by gathering information on debt, assets, liabilities, credit access and capital formation in both rural and urban areas.

The Migration Survey will focus on internal migration patterns, employment, remittances and short-term mobility to help design policies on worker welfare and social security.

The Situation Assessment Survey of Agricultural Households will collect data on agricultural income, landholdings, assets, cultivation practices and the overall condition of farming households. The findings are expected to support agricultural development and farmer welfare initiatives.

Sample villages and blocks selected for the July 2026 survey include Zunheboto, Meluri, Khuzama, Bhandari, Shamator, Chakpa, Chozuba, Kashanyishi, Diphupar A, Tuensang, Sena Old and Changtongya.

The NSO stated that trained enumerators will visit the selected villages and households to conduct the surveys.

“All data collected will remain strictly confidential and used only for official statistical purposes,” the office stated.

The NSO has appealed to the public and local authorities to extend full cooperation to the survey teams to ensure the timely completion of the fieldwork.
