A dialysis unit was inaugurated at District Hospital Mon on Wednesday under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, along with the installation of solar street lights on the hospital campus.
Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha, inaugurated the facilities at a programme held at the District Hospital Conference Hall, Mon.
The initiative involves Doctors For You, which is partnering in the provision of services at the hospital. The inauguration was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mon Wennyei Konyak, NCS, Superintendent of Police Mon Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, civil society leaders and officials of District Hospital Mon.
Speaking at the programme, Metha expressed appreciation for the medical fraternity at Mon District Hospital and Doctors For You for their work and the services being provided to citizens.
He said healthcare is the foundation for development and that empowerment depends on good health, education, and economic and employment opportunities. He also called for greater appreciation of healthcare workers, noting their role in providing essential services to people, including during difficult circumstances.
Metha highlighted various initiatives of IDAN and the State Government, including the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative and SCK, stating that the government aims to promote equitable development and connectivity across the State.
He also congratulated the people of Eastern Nagaland, referring to the region’s ongoing political developments, and stressed the need for citizens to work together for the progress of the State.
Metha thanked Doctors For You for its contribution and expressed hope for continued partnership and collaboration in providing services to citizens.
Earlier, Sunny Borgohain of Doctors For You gave an overview of the project, its activities and the services being provided.
The program was chaired by Dr Aman, Assistant Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Mon, while Dr. Benchilo Ngullie, Medical Superintendent, delivered the vote of thanks.
Metha later visited the hospital and inspected the wards and campus.
During the program, he also handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries under SCK.
