Old Monger Village Council gives contractor 7-day deadline to clear landslides

In a notice issued on July 17 to contractor M/s Vizheto Sumi, the council said the public has been facing severe inconvenience and hardship due to road blockages caused by landslides since last year.

According to the council, despite informing the site in-charge on several occasions, no satisfactory action has been taken to restore safe and smooth vehicular movement along the affected stretch.

The council has directed the contractor to clear all landslides and restore the road to a safe and motorable condition within seven days from the date of the notice.

It warned that the directive has been issued in view of the prolonged inconvenience faced by commuters and urged the contractor to take immediate action to ensure uninterrupted road access.
