54 students complete KDTTA table tennis coaching camp

Table tennis is a sport that promotes physical fitness, mental alertness, quick reflexes, discipline, and concentration, making it one of the most effective lifelong sports for maintaining good health. Beyond its recreational and competitive value, table tennis has also created opportunities for talented sportspersons to secure employment under the sports quota in various ministries, departments, public sector undertakings, and other institutions under the Government of India, while also enabling athletes to represent the state and the nation at national and international levels.

The Association places on record its profound appreciation to Imomcha Singh, a National Institute of Sports (NIS)-certified coach, whose dedication, professional expertise, and patient guidance throughout the eight-day coaching camp greatly enriched the learning experience of the participants. His commitment to nurturing young talent and imparting sound technical fundamentals played a pivotal role in the overall success of the camp.

KDTTA expresses its sincere gratitude to the Office of the Accountant General (Audit), Nagaland, for its generous support in deputing Imomcha Singh to serve as the coach for the programme. This thoughtful gesture reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting sports and youth development in the state and is deeply appreciated by the Association.

The Association also conveys its heartfelt thanks to the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, for generously permitting the free use of the Kohima Indoor Table Tennis Stadium, which provided an excellent venue and environment for the successful conduct of the coaching camp.

KDTTA further acknowledges with deep appreciation the generous voluntary contributions made by the Nagaland Table Tennis Association, parents, senior players, friends, and well-wishers. Their support enabled the Association to provide daily refreshments and lunch to all participants throughout the coaching camp, ensuring that every child enjoyed a comfortable and encouraging learning environment. The Association sincerely appreciates this remarkable display of community spirit and shared commitment to the promotion of grassroots sports.

Special appreciation is also extended to the Association’s senior players, who voluntarily served as assistant coaches during the coaching camp. Their tireless support in demonstrating techniques, mentoring younger players, assisting in training sessions, and helping with the smooth conduct of daily activities greatly complemented the efforts of the chief coach. Their willingness to give back to the sport exemplifies the true spirit of sportsmanship and leadership.

The coaching camp concluded with friendly competitions among the participants, providing them with an opportunity to showcase the skills and confidence they acquired during the week-long training. The Association congratulates all participants for their enthusiasm, discipline, and sporting spirit, and encourages them to continue practising and pursuing excellence in the sport.

The Kohima District Table Tennis Association remains steadfast in its commitment to developing table tennis at the grassroots level by providing opportunities for young players to learn, compete, and excel. The Association looks forward to the continued support of government departments, educational institutions, parents, well-wishers, and the sporting fraternity in building a stronger sporting culture and producing future champions for Nagaland.
