Mokokchung Photography Club to exhibit competition entries on World Photography Day
The Mokokchung Photography Club (MPC) organised a Mobile Phone Photography Competition ahead of its observance of World Photography Day, which will be celebrated on August 19. The competition received 66 entries.
Held on the theme “Home”, the competition was open to residents of Mokokchung district. Participants were required to submit original, recently captured photographs taken on mobile phones. AI-generated or AI-manipulated images were not permitted, while only basic edits were allowed.
The last date for submission was August 15, and the results were declared today.
Odichuba Ozukum of Sungkomen Ward won the first prize for his photograph titled “A Quiet Home, A Faithful Soul.” Akangkokba of Ungma Village secured the second prize with “Some Old Roofs Give the Best Shelter”, while Tekatemjen Walling of Süngratsü Village won the third prize with “Shadows of Yesterday, Memories of Home.”

The judging panel comprised photographer Imcha Jamir of PCD, Canon Mentor Ashwini Barkataki and Canon SSO Bondeep Khound.
The club said the entries offered diverse interpretations of “Home”, portraying it as a place, feeling, memory and connection with people.
The entries will be exhibited on World Photography Day at MMC Conference Hall, Mokokchung, from 1:00 pm onwards on August 19.
