A regional seminar on large cardamom and king chilli was conducted by the Spices Board, Field Office, Kohima, at Pfuchama Village in Kohima district on August 25.
The programme began with a welcome address and opening remarks by Neilhoutsu Teruno, Chairman of Ketsiezou Multipurpose Co-operative Society, Pfuchama.
Technical sessions were conducted by David Ng, Officer-in-Charge, Spices Board, Kohima; Mhasizotuo Yashu, Horticulture Inspector, Department of Horticulture; and Ariba Anar, State Coordinator, NERAMAC.
The sessions covered plantation establishment, nursery management of large cardamom and Naga Mircha, and market structures and value chain development for spices in Nagaland, including prospects and challenges.

The resource persons also addressed queries from growers on establishing seed nurseries, procedures and guidelines for accessing government schemes, climate sensitivity of Naga Mircha, price fluctuations and organic certification.
Growers from Ketsiezou Multipurpose Co-operative Society and farmers from Pfuchama, Kigwema and Phesama villages attended the training.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Kezhaweto Seletsu, Chairman, Pfuchama Village Council.
