The Khiamniungan Students’ Union (KSU) has questioned the closure of two major road projects in Noklak district, demanding documentary evidence to support claims that land compensation issues led to their discontinuation.

In a press release issued by the KSU, the Union expressed concern over remarks made during the recent Nagaland Assembly session regarding the Chendang Saddle–Noklak–Pangsha Road Phase-II and the Noklak–Thonoknyu via Sanglao Road Project.

The KSU said consultations with village authorities, landowners, contractors and other stakeholders, along with records from the PWD Roads and Bridges, Noklak Division, did not indicate that land compensation disputes had disrupted either project.

The Union maintained that communities in Noklak have consistently supported development projects and should not be blamed for project failures without documentary evidence.
