The Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA) has finalised a 24-player squad to represent the district at the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games (NOPG) 2026 following open trials on September 19.
The trials at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School basketball court saw 61 players register, including 42 men and 19 women. Twelve players each were selected for the men’s and women’s teams.
The final list was approved at a KDBA executive meeting on September 20. The NOPG basketball competition is scheduled from November 2 to 14.
The selected men are Keneitseizo Belho, Sharman Lama, Kevisevor Belho, Kevilelhou Dzüvichü, Kezevituo Suokhrie, Salew Kadete, Keneizelhou Kevin Tale, Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü, Sedeneituo Kuotsu, Kevisotuo Pienyü, Thejangulie Mekro and Thejazo Gary Rutsa.
The women’s team comprises Imtilela Walling, Hukholü Resüh, Thejangunuo Resüh, Pelekhonuo Kuotsu, Thsulenla, Nisino Nakhro, Lika Aye, Lukingailiu Angelina Gangmei, Rüütuonuo Janice, Kekhluzhonu Khiyho, Yimtimenla and Kosü Domeh.
Kethoselie Yashü and Menuosielie Chielie were placed on the men’s waiting list, while Medosevino Nagi was placed on the women’s list. The list remains valid for 48 hours.
The trials opened with a prayer by Father Innocent SDB. KDBA president Khrielasakuo Keretsü thanked participants and encouraged non-selected players to continue training.
