IOCL reaffirms CSR commitment1

The school facility was taken up to strengthen infrastructure and improve the learning environment for students. Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Dr Tinojongshi Chang, who attended the programme as Chief Guest, appreciated IOCL’s continued support to Nagaland through CSR initiatives in education, healthcare and community infrastructure.

Chang said IOCL had undertaken several CSR activities across the state and expressed hope that the corporation would continue supporting developmental needs in education, healthcare and infrastructure. He also acknowledged the cooperation extended by the people of Kevijau Colony.

IOAODSO Executive Director and State Head Nitin Bhatnagar said IOCL was committed to undertaking meaningful initiatives in communities where it operates. Recalling discussions held around two years ago on development needs in Kevijau Colony, he said the corporation had fulfilled its commitment by completing the classroom facility.

Bhatnagar said Dimapur hosts important IOCL facilities, including its depot and LPG plant, which supply petroleum products and LPG across Nagaland. He said the corporation considers requests from communities under its CSR guidelines and priorities, covering education, healthcare, infrastructure, women’s livelihood and empowerment.

At Padum Pukhuri, Chang described the community as one of the best-performing colonies in Dimapur and urged residents to make effective use of CSR opportunities and properly maintain the solar lights.

DGM (Operations), IOAODSO, Guwahati, Dipak Pathak said the solar lighting system was worth around Rs 40 lakh and required no major maintenance. He urged beneficiaries to take ownership of the assets and ensure their upkeep.

The two programmes included the formal handover of the classroom facility and solar lights, with IOCL officials and community representatives reaffirming the importance of community participation in sustaining the projects.
