Nagaland has exceeded its targets for Udyam and FSSAI registrations under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, recording 13,676 Udyam registrations against a target of 12,800 and 3,423 FSSAI registrations and licences against a target of 3,000.

Implemented by the Department of Industries and Commerce in collaboration with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (NIDC), the interventions covered all 17 districts of the state.

The Udyam registration drive achieved 106.8% of its target, while the FSSAI intervention reached 114.1%. Of the 3,423 FSSAI registrations and licences, 3,321 were basic registrations and 102 were State licences. Additionally, Rs 57 lakh was reimbursed to over 3,051 eligible beneficiaries to reduce the cost of food business registration and licensing.

Women accounted for 48% of Udyam registrations and 73.07% of beneficiaries under the FSSAI intervention.

The initiatives were implemented through District Industry Centres, with support from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) and Women Entrepreneurs Network of Nagaland (WENN), reaching enterprises and Food Business Operators across the state.

RAMP is a World Bank-supported Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India aimed at improving the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises through better access to finance and markets, institutional strengthening and enterprise development support. The Udyam and FSSAI interventions seek to promote enterprise formalisation and compliance with registration and licensing requirements.
