The NSCN-IM responded to a fuss which, according to the group, was created by a cross section of people and groups in the media regarding the Chairman of Pan Naga Hoho (PNH).
The NSCN-IM in a press statement issued by its MIP called the fuss “irony” as the Pan Naga Hoho does not warrant wild speculation “because, it is still in incubation stage” and does not need to go for a panic reaction.
The press release further stated that such a subject of critical importance that concerns the Nagas will not be processed in a damning hurry and stated that PNH does not undermine any democratic political institution as perceived by others. “Such wildly diffused view is unfounded,” it clarified.
“When the Pan Naga Hoho, as conceived by GOI and mutually discussed and accepted by NSCN taking into consideration the necessity to have such umbrella set up for the larger unity and welfares of the Nagas living in different regions passed through the critical stage of political scrutiny it would naturally come out in the open,” the release stated.
The NSCN-IM in conclusion reiterated that the Pan Naga Hoho when concretized will take into account the social, cultural, literature, identity and interests of the Nagas and suggested that “the less fuss made about it the better.”
