The Against Corruption And Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) Nagaland said today that it fully endorses and hail the 15 Tribal Hohos of Nagaland for the timely message to the Government of India for early settlement to the Naga political issue, reiterating the August 31 2019 declaration of the six tribes of ENPO and 8 tribes of Nagaland.

“The 15 Tribal Hohos have rightly rebutted that the BJP slogan ‘Election for Solution’ was an inkling of deception and distrust and therefore should not hoodwink the Nagas with another sugar coated slogan or phrase,” ACAUT said in a press release.

The representation to the Prime Minister of Nagaland by the 15 Tribal Hohos of Nagaland for early acceptable solution as the outmost desire of the Naga people seems to have fallen on deaf ears, ACAUT observed. “Therefore, to express our loss of faith in fulfilling their poll promise the Naga public should now express our protest against the betrayal by coming out in the streets,” it said.

As one of the world’s oldest civilizations, India should not trample and throttle the rights of a young Naga society with their machiavellian politics, ACAUT also said.

ACAUT further said, “The projected strong central top leadership of BJP seems to be effeminate when it comes for a decisive verdict to conclude a ceasefire started 26 years ago.” It added, “To go ahead with the election just to fulfill the constitutional obligation and drive its citizens to another term of unabated taxation with exploding corruption will drive the state of Nagaland to a state of chaos and anarchy.”

It cautioned, “When hope is snuffed out from the students and youth, when development is compromised and investment opportunities are stalled due to the protracted political conflict without settlement, when unity has become a casualty in the social fabric of the Naga society due to fissures of divisions in all possible boundaries, where the agencies of the GoI are busy splitting Naga Political Groups into dozens and instantly signing ceasefire agreements; In the state of Nagaland, when the people living below the poverty line and unemployment statistics are among the highest in the country, in a state where the basic human dignity is petered away, it is only a matter of time that Nagaland will be tagged a failed state.”

It said, at a time when the Naga tribal apex hohos have taken the lead as endorsed and mandated by the Naga people, “ACAUT calls upon the citizens of Nagaland to rise to the occasion and be ready to carry out delegated responsibility when the call is made for our collective future.”
