The annual general body meeting of Anglers Association Nagaland (AAN) was held on April 9 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur. The meeting was also attended by district chapters from Mokokchung and Wokha.

 

The new office bearers for the term 2022-25 was approved during the Meeting. The convenor for nominating the new office bearers, Ricky Ozukum, declared Watinuksang Jamir as the new President of the association.

 

Kechangulie Rio was chosen as the new Chief Vice Patron of the Association. The new executive members of the association were also selected during the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, outgoing President Phukato Sumi thanked all the members and officials for supporting him during his tenure as the president and congratulated the new team.

General secretary- Mhonbemo Ngullie

Secretary Organization & Events – Peteneizo Kense

Secretary Statistics – Mon Gurung,

Secretary Property – Imma Imsong

Secretary Finance – Kawoto Chishi

Secretary Publicity – Taku Imchen.

 

The Anglers Association Nagaland (AAN) was formed by few likeminded anglers sharing the same passion on September 15, 2013. Subsequently AAN got registered under the Society Act. Govt. of Nagaland. And on 2nd May 2016, AAN got officially affiliated to All India Game Fishing Association (AIGFA).

 

The association is formed with the objective to promote angling as a sport and to protect and conserve the indigenous fish species and river bodies of Nagaland. AAN has been continuously campaigning against the use of chemicals and dynamites for fishing, how to conserve and protect our indigenous species and sustainable fishing practice in general.
