The BJP is set to unveil its election manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra’, for the Lok Sabha polls on Sunday. The manifesto is expected to focus on welfare, development, and outline a roadmap for ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior party leaders will launch the manifesto at the party headquarters, coinciding with the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, a revered Dalit leader and the principal architect of the Indian Constitution.

“As the BJP government has fulfilled most of its core ideological promises, including the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the repeal of Article 370, all eyes will be on how the ruling party’s larger cultural and Hindutva agenda figures in the manifesto,” news agency PTI reported.

Citing party sources, it was also reported that measures for the youth, women, farmers and the poor – four “castes” PM Modi has often spoken about – will be among the highlights of its poll pledges.

The BJP formed a manifesto committee led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, which convened twice to discuss its contents. Prior to this, the party had initiated various efforts, including sending vans nationwide and launching social media campaigns, to gather public input for the manifesto.
