Dimapur, February 24 (MTNews): The All India Congress Committee (AICC), media coordinator, Mahima Singh countered the “Congress used northeast as ATM” remark made earlier today by PM Modi stating, “BJP has been used by NDPP as the ATM.”

Speaking at a press conference in Dimapur, Singh stated that the Congress party, despite not being in opposition, has been raising questions on certain issues, but the people of Nagaland have received nothing despite the BJP party’s towering personalities visiting Nagaland.

Singh went on to say that the questions raised by the Congress Party on the High Court and the Medical College are yet to be answered. She also claimed that CM Rio was blackmailed by the Enforcement Directorate and allowed Operation Lotus to enter Nagaland via Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Singh went on to criticize the BJP for questioning only the Congress, “as if we have been sitting in power.”

“We have not been in power for nearly 20 years,” she said, adding that the BJP-NDPP is accountable to the Naga people.

In response to Modi’s assertion that the Congress is “remotely controlled from the centre,” Singh stated that it was Rajeev Gandhi who first decided to bring the political groups to the table, followed by PV Narasimha Rao.

“When we were on the brink of resolving the Naga political solution in 2014, the BJP ousted Congress,” she claimed.
