Mokokchung, 18 June (MTNews): The Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has denounced the recent violent assault on the office of the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA). The assault, described as “shameless and senseless,” was perpetrated by “individuals who shamelessly enjoy living off the sweat and hard work of others,” BAN said.

The association in a press release said that the assault was a deplorable act that deserves utmost contempt and that the abhorrent incident serves as a stark reminder of the depths to which some individuals are willing to sink to further their own selfish interests.

BAN stated that the incident is a callous disregard for the tireless efforts and valuable contributions made by the members of the business community.

“We stand firm in our condemnation of such despicable acts and send a clear message that they will not be tolerated,” it said, adding that they firmly believe that “an attack on one is an attack on all.”

“We will not allow those who seek to exploit and prey on the hard work of others to disrupt our collective progress and prosperity,” BAN maintained.

BAN further demanded that law enforcement agencies take immediate and decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this senseless act of violence. “They must be swiftly brought to justice and held accountable for their reprehensible actions. It is only through the enforcement of the law that we can deter future acts of aggression and ensure the safety and security of our businesses and communities,” it said.

BAN further said that it remains steadfast in their unwavering commitment to fostering a business environment that is free from the exploitation and cruelty displayed by these attackers, adding that the association will continue to tirelessly advocate for the rights and well-being of its members, “As we strive to create a secure and prosperous community for all.”

“This shameful and senseless attack will not define us. Instead, it will serve as a rallying cry, fuelling our determination to stand together, shoulder to shoulder, against those who seek to profit from the toil of others. We will work towards a community that upholds the values of integrity, fairness and respect and build a future where hard work and dedication are honoured and rewarded,” BAN said.
