Mokokchung, 18 June (MTNews): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) has vehemently condemned the “obnoxious act of intimidation” meted out to its general secretary and vandalization of its headquarters in Kohima by “unknown tyrannical miscreants” as “clear manifestation of cowardice” which needs to be seriously dealt with by law enforcing agencies.
ANTA President Dziesevituo Solo and General Secretary Meyieho Hibo while denouncing the act said in a statement that at around 6:00 pm on 17 June 2023, some miscreants arrived at the HQ. The unidentified men then held the General Secretary ANTA HQ at gunpoint and vandalized the office that houses the welfare of the taxi drivers and owners in all the districts of Nagaland, the statement said.
ANTA has said that the act was unacceptable and urged law enforcing agencies for a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure those responsible be held accountable for their actions.
While expressing anguish over the vandalism, the union assured its fullest cooperation to eradicate the evil from society.
