Kohima, 18 June (MTNews): In a bid to foster national integration and promote cultural exchange, a one week cultural exchange program for colleges from Nagaland and Chattisgarh under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat-YUVA Sangam project was organized by National Institute of Technology, Nagaland in collaboration with National Institute of Technology, Raipur a nodal institute of National Institute of Technology, Chattisgarh.

The exchange program encompassed a wide range of activities such as visits to Kisama Heritage Village, Khonoma Village, Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Limited, Chumpo Museum, Sovima showcasing traditional methods of cooking at local households.

 

Students and faculty members from various colleges from Chattisgarh participated in the exchange program while students along with faculty members from Nagaland headed to Chattisgarh for the week-long Cultural Exchange Program.

 

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Dr S Venugopal, Director, NIT Nagaland said that through such exchange programs, friendships can be developed where core composites could be formed which will be a force for the country. The students from Chhattisgarh also expressed their love for Nagaland. They said the tour has helped them to change their perspective of Nagaland adding that cultures are similar, just exhibited in different forms.
