The Ceasefire Supervisory Board has announced the cancellation of 15 ceasefire identity cards issued to members of the GPRN/NSCN-Unification faction who have defected to a new group led by Kitovi Zhimomi. The cancellation follows the impeachment and termination of Kitovi from GPRN/NSCN-Unification on April 21, 2024.
In an official letter addressed to the Supervisor of GPRN/NSCN-Unification, the Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB) stated that the special ceasefire identity cards held by these defectors are now nullified with immediate effect. The list of individuals whose cards have been revoked includes members such as Wangpoh, Kiyelo, Tovishe Shohe, Aloto, Hokivi Awomi, Chumato, Joseph Awomi, Kiyehe Yeptho, L.J. Wati, Yekuto Zhimo, Chennyein, Hevuto Yephto, Hukavi Yeptho, R.M. Lotha and Kanato Chophy.
Additionally, the Ghukiye designated camp located in Zunheboto District, which is no longer under the occupation of GPRN/NSCN-Unification, has been denotified.
The cancellation and denotification follow requests made by the GPRN/NSCN-Unification faction to remove defected members from their official list and revoke their ceasefire status. The CFSB’s actions aim to ensure proper management of ceasefire protocols within the group.
