Kohima, January 17 (MTNews): In view of the upcoming State Assembly Election, Chief Electoral Officer’s Office, Nagaland conducted a two-day Training Program for District Level Master Trainers (DLMTs) from 17th – 18th January 2023 at DC’s Conference Hall Kohima.

 

The Chief Electoral Officer of Nagaland, V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS, informed the Master Trainers during his inaugural speech that the Election Commission of India (ECI) had already visited the State for the upcoming Assembly Election and had categorically instructed the scrutiny of the election process and to strive for a free and fair poll with zero violence.

 

While briefing the Master Trainers, Shashank stated that India is a democratic country and that election is the heart of any democracy and any governance. As a result, he encouraged the Master Trainers to guarantee that all polling officials receive proper instructions and training.

 

The CEO also stated that one small mistake can disrupt the entire election process and urged officials to be extremely vigilant and cautious, as well as to meticulously sensitize polling personnel in their respective districts and encourage them to fully cooperate with the district administration, police, sector officers, and others to ensure the smooth flow of the election process. The CEO also asked officials from newly formed districts to bring any required support to the CEO’s office.
