The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) convened its much-anticipated first union assembly for the tenure 2024-2026 on 11 May, hosted by the Mesulumi Students’ Union with resounding success, attended by 50 affiliated units and subordinate bodies of the CSU.
Graced by the esteemed presence of the present Executive Council led by Pfulo Sara as the President of Chakhesang Students’ Union, and esteemed seniors, the assembly commenced with a solemn prayer led by the Mesulumi Baptist Church Pastor, invoking blessings for the deliberations ahead.
During the assembly, pivotal discussions and agendas were deliberated upon, underscoring the commitment of the CSU to address pertinent issues facing the Chakhesang student community. Key agendas included the strict implementation of the Inner Line Permit and the monitoring of proxy teachers and irregular employees, among others, reflecting the union’s dedication to safeguarding the rights and interests of Chakhesang students.
With a collective vision for progress and development, the assembly showcased the unity and determination of Chakhesang students in shaping their future.
One of the highlights of the assembly was the seamless transition of leadership, as the outgoing Assembly organ, led by speaker Weneizo Mero, gracefully passed the torch to the incoming Assembly organ headed by speaker Rokovi Movi. This change of guard symbolizes the continuity of leadership and the commitment to uphold the values and objectives of the CSU.
Reflecting on the success of the assembly, Rokovi Movi expressed gratitude to all attendees for their active participation and reiterated the unwavering dedication of the new leadership to serve the Chakhesang student community diligently.
“We stand at a crucial juncture in our journey, and I am confident that together, we will surmount any challenges and propel our community towards greater heights of excellence,” remarked Rokovi Movi.
