Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is set to inaugurate the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Chumoukedima on 12 February at 7:00 PM
Honored guests include Kalyan Chaubey, President of the All India Football Federation and Vice President of the Indian Olympic Association, and Girish Shenoy, Head of Sales at United Breweries.

The event is organized by the Nagaland Olympic Association in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland.

Theme song, medals, trophies unveiled
The official theme song, “We’re Stars,” by ‘Nagaland Collective,’ was released on 11 February. Imagined by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), the song can be viewed on the official YouTube channel of Nagaland Olympic Association.

Earlier, on 9 February, the Nagaland Olympic Association unveiled the trophies for the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 at the Nagaland Olympics Headquarters in Sovima. The unveiling ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, President of the Nagaland Olympic Association, along with other dignitaries.

Trophies include Team Championship Winner, Team Championship 1st runner-up, Team Championship 2nd runner-up, Outstanding Sportsmen, Outstanding Sportswomen, Olympic Fair Play Trophy, and Spirit of Olympic Award. The NOA also revealed the medals for NOPG 2024.

NOPG 2024 begins
The Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 will take place from 12 to 17 February in Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts. The Games will feature athletics and 15 sports disciplines, including archery, badminton, basketball, boxing, cricket, football, lawn tennis, pencak silat, sepak takraw, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, wrestling, belt wrestling, and wushu. All 16 districts of Nagaland are gearing up for participation, with a total of 161 medals up for grabs.

Competitions will be held across four sports arenas, nine sports complexes, and facilities in Dimapur and Chümukedima. The main Games Village will be located at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence under Chumukedima district. All sports and games will be officially broadcasted on the NOA’s and Sportscast India’s YouTube channels.

Football and T20 cricket disciplines have already commenced, with the T20 cricket bronze medal match scheduled between Dimapur and Mon at Sovima Cricket Ground at 8:30 AM. The gold medal match will follow between Chümoukedima and Niuland at the same venue on 12 February.
