T20 Cricket competition of the NOPG 2024 concluded on 12 February with Niuland winning the gold medal while Chümoukedima and Dimapur won the silver and bronze medals respectively. The medals were presented by Abu Metha, Secretary General, Nagaland Olympic Association. Also present were members of the Nagaland Cricket Association, Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, and Members of the Nagaland Olympic Association. This is of significance as Nagaland is the first state to introduce Cricket in the Olympic movement after the announcement of the International Olympic Committee’s decision to introduce Cricket in the Olympic Games. This also happened to be the first medal event of the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024.Kalyan Chaubey, President of the All India Football Federation and Joint Secretary of the Indian Olympic Association, is received by the Nagaland Football Association President Neibou Sekhose and colleagues, including Benei M Lanthiu (MLA), Kiyeka S Sumi, Vice President Nagaland Football Association.International Coaches Deepak Dhillon and Om Prakash being welcomed by Nagaland Olympic Association at Dimapur Airport. “Exciting times ahead as they join us for talent spotting at the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 and to enhance the performance of our athletes for the North East Olympics,” NOA tweeted.
