T Lanu Imchen, President of the Central Nagaland Tribes Council, stated at the meeting that the CNTC was created in 2012 with the motto ‘Unity, Solidarity and Fraternity’ to be a pressure group and to voice out the truth for the uplift of Nagas, and that it was a non-political organization. At the same time, he stated that any problem, political or non-political, would be dealt with as long as it affected Nagaland’s prosperity.

He also announced that with the formation of the Central Nagaland Tribes Legislators Forum, the house has approved the formation of the Central Nagaland Gazetted Officers Forum and Central Nagaland Youth Front.

President of the CNWA, Atoli Sümi, while delivering a brief speech expressed regret at the under development of the so-called “advanced tribes” areas, citing the example of the Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School in Mokokchung, where she had pursued her studies in 1976, which is still substantially the same.

Short speeches were delivered from a number of speakers comprising of CNTC Vice-Presidents Khondao Ngullie and Hukiye Yepthomi, CNWA General Secretary Zujano Patton and Joint Secretary Aienla, Ao Senden Vice President Imkong Jamir, Watsü Mungdang President Arenla Longkumer, Mokokchung Town Aor Telongjem represented by Er. Lanu Nokdir, and Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem Vice-president Aolong Imchen. The meeting was chaired by Ao Senden President, Chubawati Longchar.

The Nagaland state level apex council of the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), comprised of the Ao, Sumi, and Lotha tribes, was established in 2012 as a united platform to strive for the well-being of the three constituent tribes and the Nagas in general.

It may be noted that CNTC was founded in December 2012 as a Dimapur-based organization with the approval of three tribal Hohos to address the three tribes’ common interests based on the ideals of unity, fraternity, and solidarity. On December 8, 2015, the three apex bodies of Ao, Lotha, and Sumi agreed to elevate the CNTC to the status of a state level apex body of the three tribes.

It is learnt that the CNTC team along with CNWA officials will be visiting the remote areas of Mokokchung district, namely Mangkolemba and Longchem areas, to take stock of matters pertaining to development disparities and other pertinent issues.
