Dimapur, February 3 (MTNews): Mahima Singh, the media coordinator for the All India Congress Committee (AICC), claimed on February 3 that the BJP tore apart the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state to move forward with the unconstitutional abrogation of Article 370. She added that the “Kashmir model of lotus operation in Nagaland” will result in the abrogation of Article 371(A), which grants the state special status.

Speaking to the media at Congress Bhavan, Singh also compared Rio’s Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) to how the BJP had deceived the National People’s Party in Meghalaya and predicted that they would both suffer the same fate.

Further taking a jibe at the alleged “questioning of Rio by Enforcement Directorate,” she claimed that CM Rio would now “lead the people of Nagaland in the dungeons of draconian laws like Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and National Register of Citizens (NRC),” implying that the BJP uses ED to cage political opponents.

“While the corruption-laden Rio government has shown the way into operation lotus and the Hindu Rashtra project of the BJP, the chief minister has become obsequious to the BJP,” the Congress leader alleged.

She further asked Rio whether he would allow the “BJP’s commitment to the Hindu nation to pierce through the distinctive culture of the Nagas or if he would speak out.”
Singh added that the BJP will swear on the UCC for the general elections in 2024 in deliberate ignorance of the unique identity of the 17 Naga tribes.

“Will the voters of Nagaland stand against politics of polarization, hatred and Hinduisation of their cultures?” she asked.

Meanwhile, along with his supporters, N Khekashe Sumi, a former president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal Youth Wing of Dimapur I A/C, joined the Congress as a new member. Sumi is set to contest as an INC candidate from Akuluto A/C in the upcoming assembly elections.
