Mokokchung, 06 April (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS has encouraged the teachers to work hard and perform their duties in such a way that the upcoming youngsters and all the students look up to them and consider them as their role models.

 

 

 

 

Speaking at the one-day orientation training for heads of government schools under Mokokchung district, the Deputy Commissioner said that he has strong attachment with the teaching profession and teachers because he was also in the teaching profession before he became an IAS officer. He worked as an Assistant Professor in Delhi University before cracking the UPSC.

 

He said that he had to leave the teaching profession not because of his dislike for teaching but because of his motivation to try for IAS. He also said that even though he is an IAS officer now, he always looks up to his teachers and respects them.

 

The training, organized by District Mission Authority, Samagra Shiksha, Mokokchung was attended by all the heads of the 197 government schools under Mokokchung district.

 

The inaugural program, in which the Deputy Commissioner was the guest of honor, was chaired by Temsusenla, District Project Coordinator, NECTAR, Mokokchung while the welcome address was delivered by S Bendang Aier, Assistant District Education Officer, Mokokchung.

 

The heads of government schools who attended the event as trainees were trained on 5 subject matters which included Financial transaction under PFMS with Sashimongba, Accountant, DMA Samagra Shiksha, Mokokchung as the resource person;

New Education Policy with reference to Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (NIPUN BHARAT), Vocational Education and Innovative Activities with Abigail Swu, Senior Lecturer, DIET Mokokchung as resource person;

Drug/Substance abuse among adolescents with Makshi Jamir, District Program Officer, DAPCU as resource person;

COTPA Act 2003 in relation to schools with Nukshiwati, District Consultant, NTCP as resource person;

and Protection of Child Rights with Sentinenla, District Education Officer, Mokokchung as resource person.
