A dedicatory prayer service was held at Wazakolu, the site for the proposed construction of Mokokchung district mini secretariat on 14 April, 2022.

Speaking at the service, Nagaland minister for PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum, thanked the landowners from Mokokchung village on behalf of the State government and the department for allotting the site for the project.

He also praised the farsightedness of the Mokokchung village elders from Aolepden Semchir (descendents) of Longkumer clan for parting with their ancestral land in order to pave way for developmental activities and progress, not only for their village but for the Nagas in general.

The honorable minister also opined that the district mini secretariat will arguably be the biggest project undertaken in the district till date. He also hoped that with the installation of the mini secretariat at wazapanglo area, which is nearly five kilometers from the heart of Mokokchung town, will pave way for the growth and progress of Mokokchung town as the area is viable for expansion in the near future with good and amble environment.

Later, the dedication of the site was pronounced by Wati Pongen, Pastor, Mokokchung Village Baptist Church in the presence of Shashank Pratap Singh IAS, DC Mokokchung, department officials,  Mokokchung village elders and other officials.

Mention may be made that the foundation stone for the district mini secretariat will be laid by Nagaland  chief minister Neiphiu Rio on 29th April, 2022.
