Petrol and diesel prices were not changed by oil marketing companies (OMC) for a week now as of April 13. Public sector OMCs including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise the fuel prices daily in a graded manner since the resumption of daily price revision on March 22 in line with benchmark international prices and foreign exchange rates.

Prices have increased across states but the magnitude of the revision in prices varies from state to state. Any changes in petrol and diesel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day. Retail petrol and diesel prices differ from state to state on account of local taxes like VAT or freight charges. Analysts had expected an increase in fuel rates as crude oil prices were hurting the government.

In Mokokchung, the fuel prices at Ongpangkong Co-Op Petrol pump, Sungkomen Ward, Mokokchung as per RSP IOCL App on 13 April was Rs. 110.02 for Petrol, Rs. 95.97 for Diesel and Rs. 114.42 for Xtra Premium Petrol (95 Octane).
