Lumami, 16 April (MTNews): The Department of Environmental Science at Nagaland University’s headquarters in Lumami will be celebrating ‘Earth Day 2024’ from 18 to 22 April.

Headed by Prof. Ashutosh Tripathi, the Department of Environmental Science is dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices. This annual event serves as a platform to engage the community in discussions and activities focused on environmental conservation, an update from the University said.

Prof. Ashutosh Tripathi expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “During this period, various competitions and lectures will be organized to foster a deeper understanding of environmental challenges and solutions. We believe that such initiatives not only educate but also inspire individuals to take action towards preserving our planet.”

The highlight of the event will be the valedictory program scheduled for 22 April at the headquarters in Lumami. The program will feature presentations, discussions, and awards to recognize outstanding contributions to environmental conservation.

The Department of Environmental Science has invited students, faculty, staff, and the wider community to participate actively in ‘Earth Day 2024’.

“By coming together, we can make a meaningful impact and contribute to the well-being of our planet,” it said.
