Kohima, 25 January (MTNews): The Dimapur Press Club (DPC) and the Kohima Press Club (KPC) expresses deep sorrow at the passing of journalist Eric Miachieo, who breathed his last on January 25. KPC and DPC in separate messages conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for God’s comfort and strength during this difficult time.
Miachieo was one of the founding members of DPC and served as Secretary of the Club during its inception.
“It is with profound sadness that we bid farewell to Miachieo, whose invaluable contributions have left an indelible mark on the journalistic field,” DPC said in its condolence message.
Mourning the untimely demise of senior journalist and former vice president of the Press Club, Eric Miachieo, the Kohima Press Club (KPC) stated, “Known for his extensive coverage of socially significant issues, political developments, and the Indo-Naga conflict, Miachieo’s contributions have left an indelible mark in the field of journalism.”
Elected as Vice President in 2010, he served with distinction during the tenure 2010-2012. “The Kohima Press Club fondly remembers Miachieo as a dear friend, a humble and honest personality, and a true gentleman. His loss is deeply felt, and the Club pays rich tributes to his memory,” KPC said.
“The legacy of Eric Miachieo will continue to be celebrated for his outstanding contributions to journalism and his amiable personality,” KPC said, adding that his invaluable contribution to the growth of the Press Club was fondly remembered.
In reflecting on his passing, KPC expressed that they had lost a dear friend and colleague, someone who had been humble, honest, and a true gentleman. “His loss will be felt by many and we will continue to celebrate his personality, contributions, and memories,” KPC said.
